Tartrus Welcomes The Beef Bull of 2006
23rd November, 2006
The Wilangi Invitation Brahman Sale 2006 at Charters Towers was off to an impressive start with the sale of Lot 1, KP Monty, to Jennifer McCamley of Tartrus Brahmans, Marlborough for a sale record price of $105, 000.
The Grand Champion Brahman Bull of Australia at Beef 2006, KP Monty holds an impressive title and is described by KP Brahman's Ken Roche as "the most balanced sire [they] have bred." Tartrus Brahmans purchased 50% share, 50% Semen Marketing Rights and Full Possession.
KP Monty brings proven genetics, combining two of the most successful sire lines available in local and international Brahman breeding. Jennifer McCamley explained, "One of the master stud breeders of the Brahman industry, Bubba Hudgins, of the JD Hudgins Ranch in the USA, suggested I try JDH Datapack Manso, KP Monty's grand sire, in our red herd." The strength of Tartrus red Brahmans, from generations of pure red breeding will carry, and be enhanced by this first-time introduction of a Red Grey bred sire.
A strong Beef Bull in all aspects - length, muscle, easy doing ability and good constitution, KP Monty will also positively influence the commercial side of the Tartrus operation, where his attributes will add to optimum performance in the McCamley's organic grass finished cattle enterprise.
Semen is available for this season's AI and embryo programmes priced at $60 per straw for a 20straw package and $40 per straw for quantities of 50straws or more. Registrations are $150 each, as required. see Advertisement
